connector problem ?

I have an old vaio PC RX406 whilst increasing the RAM I had to move the PSU and a small reddish brown plug with black,blue,white wires became  disconnected from the mobo I don't know what its for or from which set of pins it slipped off, can anyone sdvise please, thanks.

Hi bombadill25,

It's a long time since I worked on a desktop, but from your description and allowing for my failing memory on this I would guess that it is the fan speed control connection.

If so the connector will be located close to the 20 pin main connection from PSU to motherboard and may possibly be marked 'fan'.
