Dear All.
I am not having much luck with technical support at the moment, so here goes.
I took delivery of a VAIO FS115z 3 days ago.
The DVD RW will not open using the button mounted on the drive, nor will it read any disks.
I have tried everything: The firmware update application is telling me it doesn't need updates. I have done a full system restore. I have restored the BIOS to defaults etc.
If anyone can shed even the smallest amount of light on this, it will be truly grateful.
Pete

If the computer is only three days old and you have tried performing a full recovery and the computer still doesn't work then send it back for a refund or replacement. I wouldn't update the firmware - the eject button should work out of the box.
Good point, Rob.
Yeah Rob's right, if it's not working then the retailer should look into it.
i know it hard to send it back only just 3 days owning it after months of waiting.. but.. the sooner you send it back the sooner you it get back rather than everyday sitting infront of it and get sad/mad coz its not 100% perfecf.
Yes, don't send it back to Sony. Send it back to the retailer and tell them you want it replaced. There is no reason why you should have to wait for a repair.
Specially when it has a 28 day return policy with the store.
They can send it back to Sony on their time, not yours.
