Getting a 9800 in the PCV-RS222

I want to get one of the ATI 9800 / 9800 pro graphics cards but im worried because it says they need a direct link to the power supply of the computer. In the rs222 theres only one free power supply cable and this is positioned so you could only ever plug another hard drive into it. Does anyone know where i could get an extension lead for it from.

Also, as the rs222 only runs using a 300w psu, will this be enough to power everything and, if not, am I safe in buying a new one or will it void the warranty? If it isnt enough, and i am safe in buying a new one, can anyone tell me where i can get one which will fit? The dimensions are "16.5cm(W) x 9cm(H) x 9.5cm(D)". I could probably get 10cm deep/12cm height in but no more.

Im asking a lot there, so thanks to anyone who has the energy to help

don't know 'bout that, but do you know if the 9600 /9600 pro needs a power supply, too?? thx

From what it says on the ATI website (or doesnt say as the case may be), neither the 9600 or 9600 pro need a dedicated power supply. (But the 9700 / 9700 pro does if anyone else needs to know). Still doesn't help my problem though

ATI recommends a 300-Watt power supply or greater to ensure normal system operation where a number of other internal devices are installed so you're right on the borderline. If you need an extension then the thing you are looking for is a 'molex extension' . A Google search turned up http://www.pclincs.co.uk/acatalog/ATX_Power.html but there are lots of other places where you can get them.

Changing the power supply on your PC would technically invalidate the warranty - but if anything went wrong and you changed it back then who could tell.
