grx316mp screen

My screen has recently started becoming really pixelated at times, could it be on the way out?
It's normally ok for up to 15 minutes after boot up and then will just mess up

I'll give it a try to confirm but i'd say it's definitely a loose connection of some sorts. I dropped the laptop a while back and the speaker cover came loose. The speakers don't work now unless I push down on the speaker cover. Also, if the display is messed up and I push down on the cover, it goes back to normal

I think you've solved your own problem, you're going to have to open it up and connect the display back properly, and it should go away.

Are there any pictures on the net with the speaker cover removed to point out where the connector is or will it be obvious when I look?

Took the laptop apart, found no loose wires, put it all back together and no luck. Got annoyed so thumped the speaker cover and it's been fine since  Speakers still don't work though

Hehehe sometimes small things like hitting it work.

I'd buy a pair of headphones if it was a choice between speakers & screen

Not fussed about sound too much, I just use it for programming anyway
