I have actually on my laptop 512mb of ram. I want to have more but i dont know what kind of ram i have to choose.
Please help me.

According to the specs your A317M uses DDR2 533mhz So-Dimm modules

Have a look at Cruical.com several members have bought extra RAM from crucial and another benefit from buying from Crucial is there memory compatibility guarantee.

You can upgrade your model to a maximum of 2 GB. Have a look at Crucial for further information.

It would also be advisable to use their system scanner to determine what modules are fitted at present as you may need to discard all of you present memory if you wish to upgrade to more than 768 MB (each of the slots may contain a 256MB module).
