Help please vaio

hi all I am new to all this and just hope someone can help me with a problem.

My son has a vaio laptop but has broken the screen you cannot see anything on it so i want to connect it to a external monitor

when i start the laptop it comes up on the external monitor and windows starts loading but when loaded the signal leaves the external monitor and just the lap top screen is on how do i stop this happening.

I have started the laptop in safe mode and this is fine it stays on the external monitor but every time I try and start normally it just keeps switching back to the laptop.

Hi,

Did you try pushing FN+F7 buttons to switch from internal screen to external screen?

Do this when you are all booted up and the screen reverted back to your non working internal screen.

This should do the trick.

but this is not working when i press fn and f7 nothing happens is there another way i can do it

Hi,

Are you running Windows 7?

If so you can also push the windows key+letter P.
