I've been handed a PCG-FX105K, which is pretty much dead I think, but I suspect the hard-disk and data are okay.
I've been tasked with getting that data off, and onto a new laptop, so I thought I'd whip out the hard disk and put it in a USB caddy, and copy the data to another PC. I've no idea how to access the hard disk in this model though. I've opened the panels on the back and I can't see it.
Am I going to have to open the whole laptop? Or is there a secret trap-door I'm missing....?:smileywink:
I am not sure of the architecture of this particular notebook, but have a look at this thread, it may help.
Thanks Rich, I'll give that a go tomorrow. I'll let you know how I get on.:smileyhappy:
You¿re welcome Simon. Good luck.
Just realised that a month on I hadn't returned to let you know that everything went okay, I got the HDD out and successfully copied the data to a new PC. Thanks for the advice! (And apologies for taking so long to let you know.):smileyblush:
