Hi
My laptop (Sony Vaio VGN-CS31S - originally purchased with Windows Vista and Upgraded to Windows 7 32bit) has developed a naughty habit of the USB ports not working. When I go into Control Panel and Device Manager, if I disable them (they are still enabled) and re-enable them then they work fine for a while and then stop again and I go through the whole process again.
The right hand USB port on the laptop seems to be the culprit each time I plug into there it stops all the ports working.
I have researched on the web to find an updated driver but can only find ones for Windows Vista.
I am wondering if I should wipe the laptop and start again but am worried that the Windows Vista original build is the problem, the upgrade (purchased with the laptop) perhaps has issues that Sony are not aware of, or are who knows there may be a fix out there somewhere but I cant find it.
Its livable but irratating, is there anyone out there who can help please.
Thanks

When you upgraded to Windows 7, did you let the OS find all the drivers for you? Like checking updates and then download those updates(driver installers), and then install? This is what you did? I also have my Vaio upgraded to Windows 7 and everything works fine until today.
