Intel VT is disabled after BIOS Update

Hi Guys,
Since the BIOS update "EP0000225488.exe" the virtualization function is disabled in BIOS and the seetings are not available - FOR USER - just for the SONY service personal.
I already have an open case for this but SONY is not willing to solve this issue. This user prevention blabla from sony is really infuriating.
Does anybody of you how can i get the previous BIOS version or to get a so called "FREE" BIOS version?

Typ: Sony Vaio VPC11S1E

Thanks,

Arrggh, I just found out about this by trying to run my 64-bit virtual machine and getting the VT is disabled error.

I am really hacked off with Sony for disabling this feature in a firmware update that was required due to overheating without warning. I need VT enabled so I can do my job.

I have just logged a case with them and basically my laptop now needs to go back to the repair centre so they can re-enable VT. I will be without my laptop with 5 days at least which is a pain as I cannot work on the projects I had assigned.

Why can I not just rollback my firmware!

NOT HAPPY!

Sony say this should not be the case!

Can you please provide screenshots of the BIOS showing the Version and the blocked VT screen and I will take this up with Sony.

False Alarm.

Sony have disabled the VT in the bios with the new bios update, but when I phoned they did not tell me I could go into the bios and re-enable it myself, phew. thankfully I now do not need to send it in.

Cheers,
Z
