Matshita UJDA745 does not play DVDs anymore

Hi,

For some days the CDRW/DVD-Drive in my Vaio TR1MP does not like DVDs sometimes. Playing and burning CDs works very fine, but when I insert a DVD, it trys to read it for some times and then gives up. Sometimes it makes a "hacking Sound", or it does not open when a DVD is inserted and I push the OpenButton.

These Problems startet when playing a DVD 2 months ago. The Drive made while playing a very high and nerving sound, but I thought its a problem with the DVD and didn't care about it. But now it does not play any one DVD. And thats a problem, because the Vaio-CD with Windows and all applications is also a DVD, so I'm not able to reset my Vaio.

It seems to be a Hardware-Problem, anybody an Idea, what I can try to solve the Problem? Maybe I should use one of these lense-clean-DVDs?

Hope, you can help me

Sebastian

That's hardware defect of the drive. Use your warranty.
