My matshita dvd ram uj870qj ata device don't write DVD-R

Hi

My dvd drive don't write DVD-R but I can play video and read from DVD-R. I have Sony Vaio VGN-NR21J (baought in 2008) and I have matshita dvd ram uj870qj ata device, anyone can help??? I updated regularly with vaio update and this DVD-R type is listed in my system features in vaio website.

What speed DVD-R discs are you using and what speed are you trying to burn at?  The drive has a maximum of 8X.

What make of discs are you using - have you tried another make like Verbatim, Sony of TDK?

Firstly the blank DVD-R don't boot in my system, how can I try to burn?

I tried JVC DVD-R made in Japan,  speed 1-16x version 2.1/16x. It's also written in the packing ''for use in 16x speed DVD-R writers and recorders. for optimal performance, check your dirve manufacturer's website and apply the latest firmware upgrades'' what's mean of all this?

I played a movie recorded on DVD-R manualy and it works fine, but I can't write on a blank DVD-R. I also have some errors while writing to CD's. I updated my driver through vaio updates but problem not solved.

Please help!
