my sony vaio control centre missing functions?

hi any assistance welcome, sony vaio control centre shows system information but nothing else, tried uninstall then reinstall without success, also vaio care shows an update which fails every time, thanks

Is this on your VPCF11?

Have you deleted any Sony software?

Are you still using the original Sony Operating System?

er, l did remove some of the vaio programs that l wasn't using as l thought this might improve general speed up of laptop, seemed to be working fine until recently. l used my VAIO care and got the update that kept failing so removed VAIO care, re-installed it from SONY DOWNLOADS then updated it, told to restart to finish update but failed to install. Each time l use VAIO care l now ignore this update as it just won't work. Not quite sure what happened to VAIO control centre as l un-installed and then re-installed original version and then updated from VAIO care, it showed as a successful update but only showed system info from re-install and update.

     l have these VAIO programs still installed:

vaio care     6.4.0.15030

vaio content monitoring settings

vaio control centre

vaio event service

vaio original function settings

vaio power management

vaio smart network

vaio update

vaio windows organiser

all latest updates via VAIO care which still shows that there is an update but always fails to install after told to restart

I'm not exactly sure which drivers and utility programs are used by Vaio Control Centre but I think the Sony Shared Library is one of them.

There is a problem with the latest update for Vaio Care - I would ignore it until an updated version 6.4.1.xx becomes available.

thanks again 'blencogo', l'm not sure whether l may be part of the problem by not installing in the correct manner. l used the 'download' section to access the sony shared library which downloaded a zip file, l clicked onto this to 'extract all files' but was only able to open up the setup.exe file which seemed to be ok then told to restart with no sign of the installed program.

This was the same for the vaio control centre and the setup.exe file was again the only file l could access, l am wondering if the problem is caused by being unable to install the program fully as the folder options show 'extract all files' which then show a number of files in the folder but l can then only access the 1 setup.exe file on each. l'm not as tech savvy as l would like to be and l am grateful for any advice, Thanks!
