N Wireless Notebook Card not detected on PCG-GRV516G

I recently purchased Belkin's N Wireless Notebook Card (F5D8013 v3) however it is not detected by Windows XP running SP3 and is not shown in device manager. The Cardbus on the other hand is detected and shown as installed.

I am certain it is not the card as I have tested it with other notebooks on which it has worked so I am unsure as to what the problem is.

Any help would be great appriecated!

Thanks

Hi CS2012,

As far as I can tell the minimum required OS for this card is XP service pack 2 so in theory it should work with your notebook.

It does however require software to be installed prior to inserting the card. Did the other notebooks you tried already have the software installed or did you install it prior to inserting the card?

The folllowing link may be of help.

Hi rich192,

Thanks for the reply.

On the all notebooks I installed the software prior to inserting the card as instructed. On the notebook in question it doesn't even detect new hardware when the card is inserted before or after it is installed.

Hi CS2012,

This is a long shot but worth a try...

Open Device Manager, expand USB controllers and delete everything in the tree. Then shut down, remove the AC adaptor and battery and hold down the power button for 30 seconds. Reattach the battery and power adaptor and reboot. Windows will reinstall all necessary drivers.

Then try reinstalling the card software and reboot. Insert the card and see what happens.

If that fails to work I think you need to speak to Belkin support.

I've had no luck with the above, was worth a shot I guess. I'll take your advice and get hold of Belkin support in the morning and see what they've got to say.

Thanks for your help
