Regarding Networkable HDD I believe Netgear do one sort of .

Netgear Storage Central I think this may be an expensive option though.

It certainly does look like a toaster but more expensive and you have to supply your own HDD's.

Does it have to be networked?

I have a Networked external HDD on my desktop is that an option, it would be a lot cheaper.

Hehe I asked about this a while ago - got no replies.

I think if you get a NAS and hook it up to your router then the rest of the network should see it wirelessly.

Let me know how you get on as I've been planning a project like this of my own

I like Ebuyer myself.

Regarding Networkable HDD I believe Netgear do one sort of . On their Forum it is affectionately called the "Toaster" because it looks like a toaster and apparently gets pretty damn hot.

Unfortunately you have to buy your own HDD's to put in it and unless you buy a "Netgear approved" make and model of HDD they don't want to know if you encounter problems.

Sound familiar here:smileywink:

Have you had a look at something like: -

this

Looks reasonable value! Can be used Ethernet or USB. They do 400Gig as well.

Kee-Lo,

if you ever consider the Netgear "Toaster" have a look on their Forum first, there are many many complaints about heat.

But then again very few people go to a Forum (even here) to tell everyone how good something is.......

Here is a review form CNet on five networked storage stations, unfortunatly the prices are in $ but thought the review may be of interest.
