No TASK MANAGER

After reformatting my VAIO system I am unable to access my task manager through Ctrl + Alt + Del, Start > Run taskmgr.exe or right-clicking task bar > Task Manager.

I believe this is one of a few problems.. I also encountered problems installing the iTunes software after downloading it.

Help please.

Thanks.

I am baffled.

Have you done a full Spyware scan?

Well I doubt I could have any spyware.. I just reformatted with a deletion of everything.. Apparently, anwyays.

I can't install my updated version of Norton either because this PC is so crap lol. Sony is beginning to really suck..

I cant have Spyware, can I? I just reformatted lol.

You can get spyware in seconds of being online without protection

Yes you can. If you can't find any spyware or viruses and you've only just formatted I'd just try doing another recovery. There's not an easy way to repair problems with Windows other than that.

Spyware doesn't just 'appear' on your machine.. Does it? I always understood that you have to actually download something or Accept a file or something.. I know are probably some sites that can inflict Spyware on your PC, but the only sites I have been on is this one here and Google (where I searched for this site).

Oh and the iTunes site and Symantec site. That's it..

So you guys recommend 'another' reformat?

For whatever reason, Task Manager may have been disabled in the Registry.
There is a Regedit tweak available here that will enable the Task Manager ¿ Line 51, right hand side (you will have to download with IE as Mozilla doesn¿t work with this).

Thanks for that :). Do you think it will work?

Either way I'll post my results up here after trying it.
