I have a sony vaio pcg-sr21k whose touchpad doesnt work. no moving around no clicking.
in Device manager, there is a HID compliant mouse present and it says the device is working properly. i tried to go into bios to see whether it was off or not, but there wasnt any options. In the sony jog dial menu, touchpad is on.
anyway, looking inside, i saw the cable that runs from the touchpad to the mobo is kinda beat up with a piece of blue tape at one end. i figured thats whats wrong unless somebody can tell me if it isnt?
i ordered the cable from some place in the US and currently waiting for it... and was wondering about my options in the meantime.
Also, speakers dont work. i dont know where they are located, so i cant really check, all ok in device manager, and external speakers work fine. Any ideas?
And lastly: Battery's dead. says charging 100% but as soon as u take it off power supply, it died. I bought a used one on ebay and did the same thing, but after 10 seconds. I returned that one.
I was wondering, anybody can confirm the batteries are at fault and not something on the laptop itself?
Btw, micro dimms are SO expensive, youd wonder. why do sony have to make these things proprietary?
Cheers for answering,
HID compliant mouse
hmmm. i tried that. i downloaded the driver from sony website, and it updated fine.
however, device manager still gives me HID compliant mouse and the touchpad still doesnt work...
any ideas?
