Please can you advise on which is best suited for a XL201, Plasma or LCD.
I am looking for a 40-42" display which will connect to the XL201 via HDMI (native HDMI output from the GeForce 7600 GTL). The XL201 is running Vista Media Centre and will be used, in frequency order, for the following:
1. Watching and recording Freeview SD broadcasts
2. Watching SD DVDs
3. Watching downloaded content (some HD)
I have read (and would probably agree) that Plasma is best suited to SD material. However I have also read that LCDs are best suited to HTPCs because of the more compatible resolutions.
The models I am currently considering are either the Panasonic TH-42PX70 or one of the 40" Sonys. Any real life experiences of people with similar hardware would be much appreciated.
Samsung have the best dead pixel policy.
Well I have swung back towards plasma again. I just can't get over how much better SD looks on plasma compared to LCD, so I have now got a Panasonic on order.
It's not an easy task finding the right TV anymore.
