Problems with my Sony Vaio laptop

I have a Sony Vaio VGN-FS415E Laptop. I bought a new hard drive for it and windows home edition, i formatted the hard drive and downloaded some drivers and utilities of www.vaio-link.com, anyway when i now click start/turn off computer, there is no 'Hibernate' option and i am unable to click 'Stand by'. Can anyone help me with getting my Hibernate option back?

Take the power lead out of your laptop.
Right click on the blue battery logo.
Click on 'Adjust Power Properties'.
A box should pop up. On the far right should be a tab called Hibernate.
Enable hibernation from this tab.

Sometimes this tab doesn't appear, in which case you need to go to www.windowsupdate.com and install all the upgrades recommended for your computer.

Hi Davi_87 and welcome to the forum.

When you say that you “downloaded some drivers and utilities of www.vaio-link.com” I assume that you installed all of these?

There is a set sequence for the install of drivers and utilities and this GUIDE, although a tad dated should be of help.
