Re-install to factory settings failing

I am having trouble reinstalling to factory settings.

The main problem was the laptop would not open Windows 7 so I carried out all the usual recovery options – did F10 and transfered all my files to CD and then went for full recovery to factory settings.

The window comes up with the progress bar saying " when the recovery is complete the computer will restart to its original factory settings", but when the progress bar reaches 100% the screen goes blank and that's it, nothing more. Have tried it several times but with the same outcome.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Hi Dickie,

Although progress is reported to reach 100% there is a possibility that you hidden recovery partition is corrupt. Did you create the recovery disks as prompted? If so try reinstalling from these.
