Hi
Ive recently upgraded to a lovely Sony Vaio EB1S0E, however i am having trouble getting good quality recording from it, firstly there is NO line in & it is not recommended to use the mic in (or is it possible on a Vaio?) so what can i do?
I use my VAIO for DJing (Serato) which so far has proven a great investment & think Sony should start advertising to pro DJ's like myself who dont want a MAC.
Thanks

Hi DJMD and welcome to Club Vaio.
You have two options to record analogue music: -
1. On a Vaio you CAN use the MIC input as a Line-In. Depending on the software you can adjust the recording level as usual.
2. Get an external soundcard with dedicated Line-In and digital conversion that connects to your Vaio by USB. This will upgrade you to 24-bit 5:1 sound capability. Something like this Creative Soundblaster 24-bit USB will do nicely!!
Thanks for your help
Though its not recommended to use the Mic in to record i will try it later today and let you know.
I have thought of buying a USB sound card but want to see how i get on with the first method.
Will be in touch
Thanks
