Replacing CPU Chip

I was wondering if I could replace my CPU (I think its INtel) chip inside my laptop Sony VAIO VGN-FS515H with one of those new Centrino Duo chips I saw advertisie on TV?

Dual Cores would be pretty cool. Thanks

Unfortunately, Core Duo processors won’t work on existing Pentium M motherboards.

Dam, that sucks, is there any chips that I can replace with my current one to improve it?

Probably the fastest Pentium M using the '478/9 Socket' is the SL7VB at 2.26GHz. I presume your processor is 1.73GHz.

However, other factors also influence performance and you will probably be better of buying a new laptop.
