Ok here is the problem;
Hitting the power (on button), the computer starts its boot up. But after a random number of seconds the screen will suddenly go blank.
Normally it blanks out after the Viao logo, but some times it wont even show that.
A couple of times I have even managed to get it to boot all the way into windows before the screen goes blank.
I have tried safe mode with the same problem.
I have tried Mains power only, Battery only, and both Mains and Battery. And still get random blankness during boot up.
Fitting an external monitor also has not helped.
Lifting the keyboard (ie access to second memory slot) I notice the fan, partially viewable in the top left corner of the motherboard, doesn’t even start spinning. As this is the only fan on the motherboard for both CPU and GFX. Is the laptop just overheating?
