Sony Vaio PCG-F807K

My harddisk is crashed
it was an 12gb harddisk
i have now an 120gb harddisk
can i restore the system or will i have an error?

Hi John and welcome to the forum :slight_smile:

A 120 MB hard disk may be a tad ambitious for an F series, but if it is fully recognised by the BIOS then you should have no problems with reinstalling the system using the recovery disks…

or it was 60 euro for 40gb or 77 euro for 120gb and an usb sitecom external case.....



but if i recover will i see then 12gb or 120 gb with the old windows 2000 recovery????

This depends on whether your BIOS is capable of recognising a 120GB hard drive and I am uncertain as to whether the F series will.

I have upgraded this series to 40GB without problem and yes, after recovery the full drive was recognized. I suggest that you first check for a BIOS update on Vaio-Link.
