Sony VAIO VGN-SZ1HP - Intel Matrix?

Hi guys.
I have heard about Intel Matrix can increase 50% of hardisk peformance. The hard driver defenitely is Serial ATA but I can`t install intel software. I can install just intel chipset. I would like install Intel Matrix or Intel Acceleration.

This laptop is compatible with this software?
Also I can put another harddisk in this laptop?

Thanks in advance.

Hi lipeuk,

Welcome to the Club!!

I don't think there is room for a second hard disc in your small Vaio!

As far as I know, the Intel Matrix Console is used to configure multiple hard discs into different RAID configurations.

You are right that performance can be increased considerably by configuring RAID(0) - this puts data 'stripes' onto two (or more) disc drives at the same time. Both discs are set up as one 'Volume' and show as a single drive letter on your PC.

This is normally only possible in Desktop computers with room to fit multiple drives. I'm a little surprised that the facility is available on a notebook.

:smileythinking:

There's no room for a second hard disk, or connections either
