sound pauses when I type

Hi
we have a PCV-RZ221 (bought Sep 2003)
We have realplayer and windows player installed (sorry sonic stage does not support my pocket PC)
When we listen to music on a CD or directly on the system through any of the above, and you type on the keyboard (web address in explorer) the music slows down or begins to pause very badly
Anyone know how to solve this ??:smileycry:

Hi goslings and welcome to Club Vaio.

I don’t wish to seem alarmist, but key loggers and other Ad/spyware on your system can exhibit this symptom. Have you scanned your system for malware recently?

By the way its not the sound only that pauses but the CPU % rises to 100 %

If it is the Indexing Service (Cisvc.exe) that increases to 100 percent CPU then there is a hotfix available on Vaio-Link - Windows XP Hotfix KB833228.

Vaio-Link.

Is Winamp running?
Is it when you press P?
Sounds like you might have Winamp on "always on top" mode

sorry ... been out all day
same here I do not have winamp running either and for me pauses when i press any key
if i repeatedly press any key I can get the audi to slow down to a snails pace, once I stop its is back to normal.

Also tried watching a BBC 10oclock stream, and while typing this same problem.
Really, really anoying
Any "Sony" technical person any ideas ?
