hi guys,
I'm starting to see this error frequently on my computer - "The TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper service entered the stopped state."
I'd be browsing a site, normally Youtube or playing online flash games, and my internet connection drops for a few seconds then reconnects to the same network. Perhaps it's something to do with a constant heavy load?
I am certain it's not my router as I have checked the router logs and it doesn't register that there is a problem.
My router is a Draytek Vigor 2750n and I'm using it wirelessly. My laptop is a Sony Vaio VPCEJ2B1E.
I checked in Event Viewer and it comes up with :
"The TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper service entered the stopped state."
Then, a few seconds later it says:
"The TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper service entered the running state."
Any ideas what could be causing this problem? As I said, I have experieneced this before when downloading a large file, or watching Youtube videos. Maybe it's because so much information is being downloaded through my connection?
As I said, the router logs give absolutely no indication of this error and I think it's a Windows 7 or a computer hardware error.
Any help would be appreciated.
Sorry guys but I am just realising something after reading up on this problem.
I have checked under the Device Manager to see the settings for my wireless card (Atheros AR9285 Wireless Network Adapter) and there is a box which is checked saying:
Allow this computer to turn off this device to save power.
Maybe unchecking that would save my problem, or would it cause more problems for me?
