Track a lost computer????

My Vaio was stolen the other day and is there a way to track it down somehow, it had
Vista Business on it with all the info....
I mean what is the point with the fingerreader if you can erase it?
I did have a BIOS password as well
My Pc was a VGN SZ71XN/C

It really sux...
Iwould appreciate any help

I'm sorry to read that your Vaio has been stolen, did you report the theft to the Police?

There is no way of tracking your VAIO, but at least you should report the theft to the VAIO support, so they put it on the stolen VAIO database and it is then excluded from updates and support.

The procedure is as follows:
- You need the serial number of your stolen VAIO..
- a copy of the police report (make sure the serial number of your Vaio appears on the report)..
- contact details of the police department handling the theft..

Once you have reported your Vaio to the Police and have the required information above contact Sony Vaio-support, using the following link: VAIO-Link , to report your VAIO as stolen, then they can place your Vaio onto the stolen database ..

Also it may be worth checking your contact details are correct as Sony may wish to contact you.
