Upgrade to Vista

I am on 10th attempt to install the Sony Vista Upgrade on my XL-202. It all worked reasonably well until I inserted the 3/3 Application CD. Autorun starts, but then I get an error message, telling me that:
"The recovery file is incompatible with this computer. Confirm the model type." There is no place for me to *confirm the model".
As a consequence, I have downloaded all Vista drivers availabe on the Vaio support site so far and managed to get most modules working under Vista. However, altho I installed and completed the installation of Sigmatel Audio Driver - there is no sound whatsoever. What am I missing?

Hi ReinhardS and welcome to Club Vaio.

Several people here have had the audio problem. It seems that Vista installs its own generic driver which does not work.

Most seem to have had success by uninstalling the sound driver and rebooting the Vaio - it then picks up the Sigmatel driver and installs it.

Thanks for the welcome and particularly for the quick solution response. Indeed uninstalling the audio driver and rebooting fixed it. Great!
