Upgrading VGN-NR10E/S Notebook - Crashes

I have had my sony vaio VGN-NR10E/S for several years.

From the start I've struggled running my programs and have had crash issue's which were never sorted via sony.

I'm wondering if it's possible to upgrade ram or is there any way I can solve this issue.
