hi there
every time i start up my rx402 i get a anunce that my power fan is running on 0 (zero)!
what that?
entering the bios-setup, same thing zero rpm
although at the back of the case is leaking air through the lattice of the power-supply!
anybody can help with info's maybe?
the vaio beeps on ftp-upload and on virus scanning! but not doing a stress-test, benchmark or playing a egoshoter!!! whats going wrong?
thanks
renato
n.b.:
mother board monitor freaks out when starting, says temperature on cpu is always 85°C
othe tools
Check to make sure your processor fan is running. 85C is high.
hi RobPaxton
i always got probs with the high temperature (see http://www.club-vaio.sony-europe.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1810 )
just now, 10min. after boot 83,5°C/182.3°F
incredible!
That seems high to me. Have you looked at the processor fan to see if it is running. Also check the max design temperature for your processor at Intels website - I'm sure the information is available there somewhere.
You need to clean all your fans, and replace those who are not working as well.
Please be careful running a system at this heat, you could cause some damage.
hi all, thany for your friendly replys
i cleaned now my vaio from the dust, checked the funktion of the power- and cpu-fan (running the power-suppy out of the case i had realy respect from this thing) and can say that all is functioning how it must.
the message about the non functioning power-fan was a non-plugged cable.
nevertheless the cpu is now still running on 80,5°C (sisoft-sandra and other tools).
it's a AMD Athlon XP 2200+ whose Max Die Temperature is indicated by amd with 85°C. can say that these temperature is no prob to reach for my pc :smileysad:(( maybe caused by the verry illogically architecture from the vaio... power and cpu-fan are build in in opposite ways, distance about 2cm!
maybe i should think about a new cpu-fan & a new board (got the asus a7n266vx... nowbody knows him)
thank ya all, greets
renato
How old is this VAIO?
about 14 month!
I would probably look at changing the heatsink and fan on the processor. Your local computer shop should be able to help you with this.
i had same problem. but it was the dust causing my fan to spin too slowly?
i run at 48º now
