Hi, a couple of days ago I installed a few windows auto updates at shutdown. The laptop was left on charge to allow this to finish. The next time to go to use it it's dead!!
The laptop powers on and you can head the cd and hard disk kick in, but then they stop and the power seems to restart. I have tried pressing F2 to get into the BIOS but this never seems to work. The screen is always blank. No beeps and no keyboard lights. Has anyone has this? I hope it's not the motherboard that's dead.
Hi Dlogan83,
Rather than pressing F2 try tapping it continuously as soon as you start the notebook. You could also try tapping F8 at boot for other options.

Sounds like its a problem not related to the Software. Probably related more towards memory, cpu or more likley the motherboard.

I have similar problem and yes it happened because we installed their bios firmware update and it screwed up 2 of my hard drives and that bios update caused massive problems to so many people when listen to their to disable peoples laptops so they have to go to sony to waste some money to fix our hard drives motherboards and bioses. I am very dissapointed from their problematic updates and will never buy anything anymore from sony. corrupted company who gives problematic updates to disable entire thousands of laptops to make them selves rich.
