I received my Vaio SZ2XP from Sony yesterday. Everything works fine expect one thing, and that's the battery. The battery just doesn't sit properly into the slot. I have personally measured it, there is actually a 1mm gap between the battery and the slot when it is installed. They are loose such that the moment when I turn it upside down, it will make noise, as the result of the gap.
Is that normal and is it designed like that?
Thanks a lot for your time guys. I really appreciate it.
EDIT : Sry, I didn't search before. Several VAIO models also have this kind of problem. So I guess I just have to be patient with the "clonk" sound.
Hi olilloyd,
No, don't do that. The program 'Setting Utility Series' is what I uninstalled by accident when I meant to unisntall 'Private Disk'. Doing a system restore returned 'Setting Utility Series'. I then uninstalled 'Private Disk' successfully.
I don't know why yours hasn't uninstalled properly, are you sure you uninstalled the right thing? (which was my mistake)
Mark
The program after SafeGuard is Setting Utility Series. By they way, I wanna uninstall the system with the clean Windows. All the preinstalled apps make the windows run to slowly. Hoepefully I won't miss any drivers that can cause one hardware to malfunction. Thanks.
Hi oceanboy,
If you are going to install a clean copy of Windows XP, make sure you have created at least 2 set of Recovery disc's..
These will be required as you will need to restore the original operating system should you need to make a warranty claim via Vaio-Support...:smileywink:
Yeah, you are right, Thalamus, but I found that so many people having difficulties of creating a recovery CD. I might try to do it later today.
By the way, I just found out that my battery performance is a bit strange. If I charge my battery to 100%, then plug the AC power off, and always leave my machine on until it discharge to let say 6%, the battery works normally (the machine works for at least 4 hours). But if I charge it to 100%, use it for 30mins until let say 85%, then I turn the machine off for 1 day, the next day when I turn it on, the battery drops to 65%. If I use it again for 30mins until let say 50%, then turn it off again for 1 day, the next day, the battery drops to 30%. Why is it behaving like that? Any idea, guys?
So the main problem here is only occur when I turn my machine off.
Thanks a lot, dude.
Hi, sry for double posting, but can somebody help me with my problem above? Thanks.
