Welcome to ClubVaio CupidKhan,
You will found all original Preinstalled Drivers and Utilities, here
Please, don't forget...
How to install High Definition audio driver after Windows XP setup
1. You must first install the Microsoft's KB835221 hotfix
2. Install the audio driver for your sound device
After download, unzip the file and search the Audio folder.
or maybe you can use VAIO Recovery Center to Reinstall specific drivers
Please, let me know about any further question...
Hi Kash,
Before installing the audio drivers you need to install the Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) High Definition Audio class driver.
If you Google KB835221 you will find further information and downloads.
EDIT: I have deleted your duplicate post.
HI,
Thanks for your quick reply..i did exactly what you said. i have installed the patch first and then audio drivers.but whenever i try to install drivers its giving me message "Device Object not present, restart the system and run setup again"
Please tell me what other actions i can take..
Thanks
Kash
Hi Kash,
I am still almost certain that this is a Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) High Definition Audio class driver problem.
Which XP Service Pack do you have installed and what audio hardware, e.g. Sigmatel, Realtek...?
Hi Rich,
Yeh i have tried to install Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) on service pack 2, but now i have service pack 3, and i have sigmatel sound card. I have removed everything and installed everthing again according to your instructions. but no result...i think its not detecting my card beacause i can't hear any sound when i turn on my computer.i have tried even vaio recovery center.
Thanks
Kash
Hi Kash,
Did you install The KB888111 Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) High Definition Audio class driver version 1.0a for Windows XP or KB835221 (which is meant for SP1 only).
As far as I am aware KB888111 is included with SP3.
Can you let us know of any error messages against the Audio Device in Device Manager?
Hi Rich,
Yes i have installed both the updates. There is no error in device manager. These are under the SOUND VIDEO AND GAME CONTROLLERS
Audio Codecs
Legacy Audio Drivers
Legacy Video Capture Devices
Media Control Devices
Video Codecs
But there is no sigmatel drivers..when i try to install the drivers its giving me error.
"Device Object not present, restart the system and run setup again"
Thanks
Kash
Hi
i am attaching my setupapi.log..where you can see the message.
#E151 Coinstaller 1 of 1 failed. Error 31: A device attached to the system is not functioning.
Thanks
Kash
Hi Kash,
As the device is not listed in Device Manager I am afraid that I am running out of ideas. I am wondering whether there was a glitch when you carried out the recovery that a further recovery may rectify...
You could have a look in Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs and look for Sigmatel and High Definition Audio driver Package - KB888111. If these are listed then remove them and reboot.
If you have a Registry cleaner you could also try running it.
Is the sound card then recognised?
