Recently my Laptop has been really underperforming. it seemed to happen very quick over night.
The lap top gets very hot very quick, it will keep stalling and pausing and the performance is generally poor now.
I have noticed the performance gauge thing (CPU and RAM) now generally sit a lot higher.
I have used
defrag
disk clean and
tried to make sure there are no programs running in the back ground.
Also i have tried to update the lap top as much as possible to see if this would cure it.
I have run a full scan and root kit scan with my up to date AVG 9.0 too, with no bad results.
its a VAIO VGN-FW51MF
i'm stumped! Anyone got any ideas???
Many thanks in advance,
Sonny
It sounds like an overheating problem. Is the fan working normally?
Have you tried blowing any accumilated dust from the air vents to the CPU?
Try downloading PC Wizard 2010 and tell us the CPU temperature when the CPU is under load.

Yea the fan works. it spends a lot of time on full whack due to the heat.
i have a fe21h sadly put in a corner and same issues, now not working at all it switches off as i put it on after a long time or sometimes won't even switch on. i think my cpu fried.
try restore it to factory settings
