Update the bios to the latest version (R0200J3) to fix this problem. Follow the downloads link from the support tab at the top of this page, select your model and download the system software. Takes but a moment to update.

Bonce11,

I updated the bios to the latest version (R0200J3)last week.
However, this did not solve my motion eye problem !
I still have to disable and re-enable it regularly in device management to get it back into action.
As far as I understand (and I did not get any wiser via Sony Vaio Link), we have to wait for a driver update.
Did you mean something else than the Bios update ?
Thx,

Wouter

Hmm, that's odd I'm sure it was the BIOS update that fixed it on my FE41Z. I formatted the disk and did a clean vista install and my camera works fine, more than once per session. Perhaps you're missing some of the other drivers or utilities? The original installation packages are now available to download from the same place as the BIOS, I noticed last night.

Sorry this is vague!

Well,
mine works more than once per session as well.
It just does not work all the time, and I'm sure a Vaio is not intended to have built-in equipment work only now & then ...

I think its not a problem with the Hardware or the Bios its a Problem with Vista and the Driver for the Motion Eye.
If you have problöem with the notebook to wake up after sleeping yopu should update the bios Update.
But its dangerous, you must close all important problem which can take in the bios or the system.

Cancel the screen saver and the power save methods for the ti,me in updating bios.

Sorry for my bad english but this problems with Windows is normal i think.
Normally i use a Apple Macbookpro in my most time but since MS bring new System called "Vista" i gave MS a second chance.
But now i must see that the System have bugs and nothing really change since last 6 years...
I hope it will be better.

its not a problem with the driver its a problem with sony trying to take control of things with their bloated ware again!

if you use the standard vista driver it works for ages as soon as the sony driver loads its stuffed.

stupid sony.

mine has now gone thanks god! bring on toshiba! stuff this sony rubbish.
