Hi. The problem is that I've used the update from http://www.vaio-link.com/vu/vu21/vu21.asp?l=en to change my vaio's firmware. I followed all the instructions and this programme announced a sucessfully accomplished mission. So far so good, but when I rebooted my laptop and tried to burn a CD-R it stopped half way through and rejected the CD. Now when I try to read any other CD or DVD it makes strange sounds and nothing happens. I have also tried downgrading the firmware with this tool http://upload.cdfreaks.com/ftools/firmware.exe
and it didn't even change the version of firmware. Same thing happens, so I have no cd-drive..
Please help!
jaja, that's that's the e-support.
That site is ALWAYS having maintenance these days!
My Vaio is going to Sony support centre tomorrow! 10-15 working days!
Bloody hell, are they going to send it to the CIA?
DVD-ROM replacement takes an hour for somebody who doesn't know what a screwdriver is, but this is just taking the piss, I hope the boys will do it sooner..
Now I was forced to buy a 60Gig external 2.5"HDD for a 100quid together, not quite the best deal I could've found, but I had to..they scare me saying that the whole HARD DRIVE might be erased, my god is this the HDD they are going to replace or the DVD drive? Idiots.
This world is crazy, let's get out of here!
😉
Thread probably closed.
Having an external backup device is becoming more important now than ever.
Hm, my baby's gone now for 10-15 WORKING days, which means as many as they need, the worst scenario is that i will not get it till 21st APRIL! Oh MY GOD!
I will hang myself by this time...
Does anyone know if this period will be added to the guarantee?
Or is this as if I had it running at home?
Huh?
/shattered/
ROFL, I think this one
as if I had it running at home?is correct.
No, it means you loose that period of time.
Twats, no other word comes up to my mind now..
Disgusted as well.
Now I have to work on a shitty university's comp, what a disaster..
be glad, that you have work:smileycool:
Thankfully you have somewhere to work, some places don't have much.
Still it's not good they don't extend warranties when things go bad.
