i bought a D-link DI-514 wireless LAN router. But i can not connect via wirelless lan. can you help me

Does this appear to be a problem with the Laptop (which model?) not picking it up?

Or is it related to the router do you think?

A few more details regarding what is said/what the pc does etc would lead me to a better diagnosis.
