I have a vaio S2XP and want to know if anyone can recommend a good wireless mouse.
I have a Logitech MX1000 and it's brilliant. Pricey though.
Mmh....sounds cool
Can I use this on my VAIO too?
Can I connect the mouse, on the same way like my Laptop to the Router? via D-Link WLAN card?
This one looks cool too.. but izzit possible to connect it like my vaio wireless mouse?... meaning without using any additonal receiver.
Personally I don't agree with provides solutions here. They both require you to plug a receiver in a USB port. Come on people, the S2XP doesn't have bluetooth for nothing! A wireless bluetooth mouse is really an obvious choise, imo.
There are several BT laptop mice available, but given the availability I went for the Trust BT Laptop mouse. I know, it's a budget-brand, and I'm not too keen on it normally, but I'm quite pleased with it. Just ¿35, looks nice (very matte finish) and works just fine with my S2XP. Pairing went easy.
And the best part: no hassle! I switch on my laptop, switch on the mouse, and I'm DONE . No extra USB-dongles which stick out and can break off. No extra USB-dongles which can get lost. No extra USB-dongles which you need to plug-in and pull-out every time you need the mouse.
Due to its size (it IS meant for portable use) it's not suited for all-day-use. And because of bluetooth, the batteries won't last for weeks. I use NiMH-accu's instead of normal batteries; works like a charm.
For every-day-use there are plenty of normal-sized BT mice available.
I totally agree, Fuzzillogic
But my question is, wheter I can use a wireless mouse with my D-Link WLAN card.
A WLAN mouse?? Never heard of that before. Personally I think it's silly. It would require extra drivers, and configuration would be a real pain in the ass. And WLAN would really suck the life out of the batteries quickly.
[edit]What I'm saying is: forget about WLAN mice It would suck.[/edit]
Bluetooth is meant for this kind of stuff. The S2XP has bluetooth. There are BT-mice. Why not use it?
If you're worrying whether BT conflicts with WLAN (they both operate at 2.4GHz), they seem to live together quite happily. BT v1.2 has extra support for operation next to WLAN, but even with this v1.1 mouse I didn't notice any problems with the WLAN connection while using the mouse.

A other chanel would fix that problem. For example, channel 6 for the Router an channel 12 for the mice.
