Wireless problems :(

hey everybody.

I've recently moved into my student house and we have 10 meg cable broadband and are using a hihg-end Belkin G+ Mimo wireless router. However, I'm having problems and seem to be the only person. I've got a Vaio VGN-FS215Z and when I'm in my bedroom, the signal for the wireless is "Excellent" yet I keep getting disconnected intermittantly, often every few minutes, yet the guy who is in the room next to me has no problems at all. He bought a Belkin Mimo wireless card for his laptop as opposed to the built in sony one I have. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what could be causing my problem, and if so, any possible solutions which they can provide me with.

Many thanks.

Paul

Hi Paul,

Try this: -

1. Click Start, Control Panel.
2. In the Control Panel dialog box, click Performance and Maintenance, System.
3. The System Properties dialog box appears, click the Hardware tab.
4. In the Hardware tab, click Device Manager.
5. In the Device Manager locate the Network Adapter category in the list and expend it.
6. In the Network Adapter category, double click Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection.
7. Select the Advanced tab and select the Power Management option in the list.
8. Deselect the Default check box and set the option to level is MAX.
9. Click OK to apply the new settings.
