...Yet more probs....DVD/CD drive

...Just as one prob goes, another pops up!!!!
My DVD/CD optic drive has been playing up recently, only today I find out that it does not want to read/write any (most) data at all, just hear the whirling of the drive, egg timer on screen etc..
this has been going on for about a week but as I have other probs to deal with I thought it just might be the media that I was using, but it wont read genuine DVDs or CDs and when it does it'll take about 15mins to do so..

AND to cap it off... warranty ran out last month... the dvd drive is DVD RW DW-D56A.. (and from what I gather its crap)...

All I need to know is:- a) is it repairable... and b).. if not what can I replace it with....

Hi Bikadda2005,

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but there have been quite a few problems with this drive. The only solution seems to be to replace it.
