Ear Tips WF 1000x

Can anyone recommend where I can buy spare ear tips for the Sony WF 1000x

I've tried many channels and the sony supplier charges silly money for delivery with UPS

Hello @Mayfly58,

as far as I am concerned, Sony uses the same mount for the ear-tips on all their in-ear headphones, so you can essentially buy

a. either a cheap pair of Sony headphones which comes with a full set of ear-tips (which will be less expensive then buying the "real" spare part.

or

b. purchase replacement-ear-tips from a third party.

Please do me a favor and upload an image from the "mounting peg" for the ear-tips of the WF-1000X just so I can see that I am right about the "standard-mount".

Hey @Mayfly58,

thank you for going trough the effort of uploading a picture - it confirms my suspicion, that the WF1000X use the same exact peg as Sonys other in-ear-headphones, so you can buy any other unit (I would go for a sub 20 pound) to get a full set of ear tips.

May I know how much the eartips especially for the WF1000X would have cost as a spare part?

One type of eartips were priced at £5.00 ex VAT and another at £10.00 the shipping was expensive via UPS around £13.00 through to £40.00 the cost of which ruled out out buying the eartips from the official supplier.

Hello @Mayfly58,

just as I thought - simply buy any sub 20 pound Sony in-ears and you will get a full set of eartips.

WF-1000X have special eartips that are longer than normal to stabilize the set in your ears and goes in deeper. Regular are not long enough and you might end losing them or won't be able to keep them in place.

You should contact Sony or a reseller to buy the one dedicated for WF-1000X.

Hello @Sonyvores,

I doubt that - even if that is the case, the eartip itself is not important since the headphones have a little "hook" which secures the ear-pieces in your ear.

See here:

Well go check and learn

As you said it, you don't have the product so.... you don't know.

And LOL if you think eartips design is not important XD if it was the case, why designing special ones for this headset .... WF-1000X special longer eartips also have a 2nd other function that you obviously don't know either...

Anyway it only depends of what you're looking for @Mayfly58 but now you have all the correct info

If you want WF-1000X eartips => no choice you have to order the dedicated ones

If you decide to go @IamNic  way, which you can but then you know now that it won't be the same as original but compatible ones which implies that it can affect stabilisation & sound/NC performances.

Hi @Sonyvores,

I wonder why Sony even includes normally shaped eartips with the WF-1000X if they need to be longer for the device to function properly (and yes I understand that these are the foam-eartips):

This image clearly shows that Sony even includes normally shaped eartips. This image clearly shows that Sony even includes normally shaped eartips.

I am certain that the two additional millimeters on the sleeve of the silicon eartips won't have an effect which is worth the additional money they cost as spare part.
