MDR-1000X broken

Hi 

My pair of MDR-1000X headphones is broken 😞 

There is a crack in each side in the link between the headband and the earphones. 

I can see that it is a general problem but is it something that SONY acknowledge?

I still have the receipt and the warranty on the product is still valid.
