Have just bought an NW-E394 and I'm happy with it's playback when I'm on the train, but When connecting it to my car's entertainment system via usb, I get the message "USB connected unable to operate." How can I get the walkman to play ? or is it not possible. Any help gratefully received. Thanks.

Thanks for that, hope there's a solution to this, as it spoils an other wise nice piece of kit.

Hi chasbat
What your describing sounds normal as the USB port of the Walkman is meant to be used for transferring files (which explains the message as the Walkman can't be operated when connected to a USB device).
On the other hand, the 3.5mm audio socket is what you should be using in this case.

That's brilliant, many thanks for your response, I wouldn't have thought of that. Have to get me a cable tomorrow. Again thanks 👌👏👏
After lots of waiting messing about and such like finally got the cable...........didn't work either. So car been in for service and I mentioned that the USB port didn't work (sorry little white lie) and asked they have a look at it. when I got the car back they gave the port a clean bill of health, couple of days later as a desperation I've nothing to lose act I plugged it in via the supplied USB cable and Bobs your uncle works a treat. No idea what was done to the car if anything or maybe the gremlin escaped in the workshop, but I'm not bothered working a treat. Thanks to all who helped appreciate your time and effort.
Regards
Chas
