NWZ-A15 Walkman incompatible with NAC-HD1E Jukebox in ATRAC3 / PCM mode

Hi,

I have just acquired an NWZ-A15 "Walkman" digital media player and it does not appear to be compatible with my NAC-HD1e Jukebox.

The "Walkman" is updated to the latest v1.21 firmware.

The "Jukebox" is running the latest known firmware v1.00.01 but has been reporting that the firmware updates server is not found for a number of years.

Please can you advise as to whether it is possible to transfer music media from the Jukebox to the Walkman in the ATRAC3 / ATRAC3Plus / Linear PCM modes (without automatic downsampling to a low bitrate MP3 format and upsampling to a higher resolution format with a noticable reduction in sound quality)?

There is an option provided in the Walkman settings for an alternative USB connection method however both this method and the standard method, and also the Quick and Standard transfer modes available under the "Walkman" transfer settings in the Jukebox "Transfer" options (ref. page 46 of the Operating Instructions) all result in the message "Walkman not connected" on the Jukebox unit.

If it is not possible for the units to connect in this mode then I will have no option but to return the Walkman to the point of purchase and request a refund.

Regards,
Alan

Your NAC-HD1E is a 10 yo product and it doesn't support latest walkman. Try in the Juke Box menu to transfer to a USB device and it should be able to transfert music files to walkman A15.

BUT walkman A15 EU version doesn't support ATRAC so if you only have ATRAC files then it's a lost cause. If you have PCM then it should be OK 😃
