WF-1000XM3 - Has anyone had issues with the earphone plastic?

Had these fantastic earphones for over a month now and just noticed the other day that a bit of plastic has broken off on the left hand earphone around where the L was. It is a semi-circle piece of plastic and means I can no longer see the L. I have categorically not dropped or miss-handled these earphones as I am always very careful to keep their resale value (battery case is in a protective cover).

Has anyone else had a similar issue?

Hi gmcnab1,

Welcome to the community.

I think you may need to get in touch with Sony Support about this.

Thanks,

Pascale

So, I sent the earphones back. I wasn't looking for a fix as there was no issue with them at all. I just wanted the issue investigated. I am getting stung for the best part of £130 to fix them or £30 for the privilege to have the issue looked at and sent back.

Physical damage is the diagnosis, no sh*t Sherlock. As stated, these have not been dropped or miss-used in any way. There is no other damage on either earphone, just this semi-circle piece in a totally obscure place where, if they had been dropped, there would have been other obvious external damage.

My guess is quality of plastic or manufacturing issue (lets been honest, Sony have form) and the strength of the magnets holding them in place.

So now I am going to have to cough £30 to get them back and have them checked over independently.

Absolutely disgusted with Sony
