Android operating system

Could someone tell me that actualey knowes properley what the lastest android operating system is?, and also wether u can install the 2.1 op on to the xperia x8.  And this question sounds like a long shot from what ive read if they are gooner allow u to install the 2.2 operating system on the xperia x8.  Cuz need to know cuz literally only got tonight pretty much to decide wether to get the xperia x8 or not.  If someone could tell me for sure it would be good and apprichiated.

The X8 has 1.6 as the current version. 2.1 is about to be released, but there is no specific date set yet, it is supposed to be released before the end of 2010.

As to my knowledge, the bootloader has not been cracked yet and there is no custom roms available, so you won´t be able to install 2.1 or 2.2.

You need to wait until SE releases the official 2.1 update
