I just upgradeded the sw on my X10 so now when you go to contacts and select the number to dial you get a page with a dialler and a "call " button. This means you have to press additional buttons as well as the problem of dialing numbers with your ear when you are used to the old sw. Is there any way to switch this off?
Also after the sw upgrade the header in the setting menu is not updated.
Unable to simulate your issue. Anyway, if you need to call a phone number, use the Dialler (Phone app) and for contacts, use the Phonebook app.
I don't quite understand your problem on this post. Can you please be more detailed so that I can provide you with a better solution? :smileyhappy::smileygrin:
The sequence as follows.
1. goto phonebook
2. select contact
3.select number to be dialled.
4. number to be dialled is displayed with the dialler and "call" button.
Step 4 did not happen before. Once the number was seleted it was dialled automatically. As I am used to the lod method I put the phone to my ear after step 3 and then dial numbers with my ears.
It is very irritating.

I just upgraded to 2.1 but I dont get step 4 that you mention. Once I tap on the phone# it starts ringing. What build# do you have? I have 2.0.A.0.504
Are you on 2.1? Go to Settings - About phone and look at the Firmware version. What do you have? the extra step you mention did come in with an update to 1.6, but has disappeared again with 2.1. I liked the extra step myself, but I can see why you prefer not to have it.
