Sony, are you going to address the issues we are having with the Walkman app?

I am, quite frankly, amazed at the lack of attention which Sony are giving to the problems we are having with the walkman app after the recent Jelly Bean upgrade.

To recap, once our phones go into 'sleep' mode the walkman just plays to the end of the current track... and then silence, for maybe 30 to 60 seconds, sometimes for several minutes, before it suddenly decides to play the next track. Pushing the 'on' button makes the next track leap into life. The same thing happens with another music player app I have installed, so it's a Jelly Bean problem, and not the music apps' problem.

We are waiting for a solution to our problems, Sony, please give us one, and quickly.

I have exactly this problem, only just got the phone as well. I assumed Sony would have the music playing side of things sorted.

so symptoms are that if phone goes into sleep or standby, music plays to end of current track then  either stops or goes to next track amd shows as playing but no sound. then app doesnt respond to anymore commands I had to switch phone off and on to restatt it.

is there a free app on Play store I can install and uae instead?

I will take mine back to O2 where I bought it. They can either get it fixed or refund me, as its jot fit for purpose at moment

my phone is still on Android 4.0.4 so it isnt just the operating system.

I'm having the same problems. As well as that though it loves to skip one specific track in the middle of the song and just move onto the next track. It is getting quite annoying to be honest. Had I known about this before hand I wouldn't have updated at all last night.

I'm starting to assume, Sony, that you haven't a clue about our Walkman problems!! You seem to be paralysed, like rabbits in a car's headlights. Please realise and understand that I am an older person complaining, not some young teenager who can be fobbed off. Your advertising blurb on your website states "The best music - in Sony Sound". I can think of one or two areas of UK law you are possibly infringing, i.e. goods of marketable quality, misdescription in your advertising.

We 'upgaded' our telephones on your suggestion, now we're having problems as a result. And furthermore, we expect you to get it fixed for us, and present solutions - now.

Sony, I bought your headphones (not the cheapest), just because your phones are great music players. And now I can not even enjoy it. So why do I need your headphones (MDR-V55)?

Why remain silent on this and other errors? Let us even know that you received the message and you do something about it. Or let us know that you do not. We sell phones while they are still worth decent money.

Same here.  Poweramp and Google Music seem to work fine so it is isolated to the Walkman app (a main feature of a Sony phone) hopefully Sony can just push out a simple app update via Update Centre.

I noticed this issue too. Even more so, Sony has not even implemented gapless playback, which was a higly requested feature and should be one of Sony's main priorities to include in the update since they focus so much on music.

Quite disappointed with all these Walkman issues.

I too have installed Poweramp, and it is working fine when using my earphones and my Xperia goes into sleep mode. Sony have really let us down, their tecchie guys on here have been paralysed like rabbits, so shame on them for not addressing our issues.

Appalling service, have been very pleased with my phone until that Jelly Bean upgrade. Would strongly recommend to those who have not yet upgraded to delay until Sony can get their act together, whenever that may be!!!

Hello,

i had the same problem after that jelly bean update, but i think its working for me after some settings handling.

At first i have changed setting in "Security" -> "Screen lock" to "Nothing", then listened in sleep mode. It worked fine. Then i changed that setting to my original with Finger move (choose yours preffered) and it (songs playing without silence between) continued to work in sleep mode.

I didnot rebooted phone yet and hope it will be fine after that too.

--------------------------------

I have all music tagged.

Hope this will help someone.

Thanks to daimooni... It works so far. Now I have continous playing of my songs. Still the issue with 2 to 15 sec. break between songs.
