Wifi keeps turning on automatically

My WiFi won't stay off. I have turned off Location Based WiFi in the Power Management settings, "Avoid poor connections" and "Wi-Fi optimisation" in Advanced Wi-Fi options. I have even disabled the application "Location Based Wi-Fi" from the Apps settings.

However, my Wi-Fi every now and then turns on, and I don't know what is causing this. I have recorded some logs using the ADB, and these messages appear significant:

Start proc com.sonyericsson.android.locationbasedwifi:service for broadcast com.sonyericsson.android.locationbasedwifi/.LbwBroadcastReceiver
Process com.sonyericsson.android.locationbasedwifi:service has died
D/WifiService( 776): setWifiEnabled: true pid=991, uid=10133

(After these was the time when I disabled the Location Based Wi-Fi built-in app.)

Then I noticed the error persisted so a) a rebelious Location Based Wi-Fi is not the culprit or b) besides Location Based Wi-Fi there are other apps turning on Wi-Fi against my will. So I took some more logs. During the taking of this log, I witnessed Wi-Fi turn on automatically. It appears to be that WifiDirect is the culprit, and com.mobisystems apps, in the following log pieces, tend to be present around Wi-Fi related messages. Read on:

So I was wondering, how can I fix this issue?

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

I suggest that you try to repair the phone software using PC Companion..

Before repairing your device you may want to backup your information first. Check out this topic for more information on how to.
How to backup?

If the issue should still remain I think that this needs to be examined and fixed at a repair center. For more information about how to submit your phone for repair and where, contact your local support team.

Ok I will try as you say, but I can't find a PC Companion for Linux, is there none??

Samuel I have no access then to the PC Companion, and I would like you to help me solve my problem. Perhaps you can have someone analyze the logs I recorded? I have temporarily worked around the problem by disabling the built-in applications Location Based WiFi, Screen Mirroring and Smart Connect.

However, this clearly points out that the Sony-distributed applications are the culprits of this problem. I have not tinkered around with my phone software, so I highly doubt I have caused any corruption to it, as for a software repair to be necessary.

I have the same issue with the Wifi turning on itself on Xperia Z1 Compact.

I followed guidlines here Android Stack Exchange and discovered the following application com.sonymobile.tvout.wifidisplay was switching on my Wifi

W/ContextImpl(23608): Calling a method in the system process without a qualified user: android.app.ContextImpl.sendStickyBroadcast:1329 android.content.ContextWrapper.sendStickyBroadcast:427 com.sonymobile.tvout.wifidisplay.WfdApplication.onCreate:96 android.app.Instrumentation.callApplicationOnCreate:1007 android.app.ActivityThread.handleBindApplication:4462

I'm going to try what wolterh suggested in their last post Settings -> Apps -> All -> Select App and disable but I think Sony should address this and give us an official answer.
