Handle calls on both SIM cards

Dual SIM smartphones come with many advantages. They allow you to separate work from play – and handle your calls more cost-efficiently. With our new dual SIM feature, you can keep both SIM cards active at all times – meaning that you can talk on one SIM, and still receive calls on the other, instead of going to voicemail.

According to GSM arena,it is dual standby:

Most of the xperias are like this,if not all.

That's what I thought, this is odd, perhaps a Sony moderator could explain

or you can contact Sony directly

I did forward this internally some time ago to have the text on our webpage made more clear but there's been no change yet.
The text on our webpage is referring to the function called dual SIM reachability where the phone forwards calls to the other SIM during calls. This means that the phone will forward calls made to SIM2 to SIM1 when you have a call on SIM1 and vice versa. The phone is a dual standby phone.

To use this feature you need to enable Dual SIM reachability under Settings -> Dual SIM settings. You operator(s) and subscription(s) must also support call forwarding and call waiting.
When this is enabled you will be able to to receive calls on both SIM-cards even when you have an ongoing call.

I'm sorry to hear that you feel misled by the text but if the dual SIM reachability feature doesn't meet your needs i can only advice that you contact your local support team to see if they can assist you.

With our new dual SIM feature, you can keep both SIM cards active at all times – meaning that you can talk on one SIM, and still receive calls on the other, instead of going to voicemail. This gives you the option of putting the first call on hold while answering the one coming in. So you need never miss a call. You activate the dual SIM feature when you set up your phone. If you add your second SIM card later, you can always access the setup guide from the Settings menu.
